The disclosure relates to a method of controlling undesirable vegetation in a field containing an auxin and glufosinate herbicide-resistant cotton crop while reducing the amount of injury to the crop plants, the method comprising applying to the location of the crop where control is desired a mixture of an effective amount of 4-(2,4- dichlorophenoxy)butyric acid (2,4-DB) and an effective amount of glufosinate, wherein the plants of the herbicide-resistant cotton crop comprise an aryloxyalkanoate herbicide-tolerance gene coding for an aryloxyalkanoate dioxygenase (AAD) selected from the group consisting of AAD-1 and AAD-12.
