PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new proanthocyanidin derived from a peanut, a method of producing the same, and a use thereof.
SOLUTION: There are provided a proanthocyanidin trimer represented by formula (I) a pharmaceutical composition, an anti-inflammatory agent, food products, and cosmetics each comprising the proanthocyanidin trimer and a method of producing the proanthocyanidin trimer including subjecting a peanut covered with its seed coat to extraction by water and purifying the obtained extract.
