PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an expected sterilizing effect and the like cannot be obtained since a drive SW of an ion generator is forgotten to be inputted by mistake in using an apparatus equipped with the ion generator by switching a plurality of operation modes, in the apparatus equipped with the ion generator.
SOLUTION: In this apparatus control method, the apparatus having the ion generator is constituted to independently select "on/off-states" of an ion mode and the switching of the operation modes, and an ion mode is forcibly switched to an "on-state" when the operation mode is switched to a specific operation mode even though the ion mode is in an "off-state". The specific operation mode is set in the operation mode, and the ion generator is forcibly operated regardless of setting by a user when the mode is selected.
