Extracellular vesicles, methods for their preparation and treatment are described. In general, extracellular vesicles can be produced by providing sulfhydryl blocking reagents on animal cells. The extracellular vesicles may be loaded with a compound for the intended use, such as, for example, by loading the extracellular vesicles with drugs for treating the animal.
