Fluid absorbent fibers 2 are accumulated in a form die 21 without being interfered by a polymer charging member 41 for charging a superabsorbent polymer 5. There is provided an apparatus 10 for manufacturing an absorbent body 1 in which while a form die 21 is moved in one direction along a predetermined moving path, fluid absorbent fibers 2 are distributed toward the form die 21 and accumulated in the form die 21, whereby the absorbent body 1 is formed. A polymer charging member 41 for charging superabsorbent polymer 5 into the form die 21 is disposed to intersect at least a part of a distribution path of the fluid absorbent fibers 2, and a space through which the fluid absorbent fibers 2 are allowed to pass along the distribution path is formed in the polymer charging member 41.
