The implantable device includes a deployment configuration in which one or more helical sections with a proximal end are in a standoff near-end configuration. A standoff near-end configuration may reduce movement of the deployed device and may preserve implant tissue compression. Alternative configurations may include two or more helical sections having a transition section disposed between two or more helical sections. The device may include a right-handed spiral section and a left-handed spiral section, and the transition section includes a switchback transition section. The switchback section may provide greater control of the device during deployment by limiting the reaction force of the device comprising the spring material.
