The present invention relates to a method for isolating follicular stem cells by isolating nestin-expressing cells from a mammal. These follicular stem cells are a source of adult stem cells for autologous or xenogeneic stem cell treatment. The stem cells can be transplanted into the mammal, or directly into the organs.
