The present invention relates to a remote plant cultivation system based on a smart phone. More specifically, in a plant cultivator configured to cultivate a plant by circulating a nutrient solution to a cultivation gutter where the roots of plants are inserted and fixated through a nutrient supply unit and a circulation pipe, a lighting unit for irradiating light toward a plant, a heater and a cooler for controlling the temperature of the nutrient solution, and various sensors for sensing the state of the nutrient solution, the cultivation environment, and the growth state of the plant are provided. A communications module capable of communicating with a personal terminal of a user is also provided. Thus, device operation information and detection information through the sensors may be transmitted to the personal terminal of the user through the communications module. Accordingly, the user can remotely control the plant cultivator by monitoring the growth environment of the plant through his/her own personal terminal. In addition, provided is a management server which receives device operation information and sensor information provided through the communication modules of the plant cultivator in real time and provides feedback information according to a plant cultivation situation to the personal terminal of the user. Thus, cultivation information and diagnosis information according to the kind or type of the plant are provided to the personal terminal of the user through the management server.
