PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking apparatus which is constituted at a low cost and can make a uniformly stabilized rice cake in a short time.SOLUTION: The cooking apparatus includes a cooking case 2 which has a rotatable blade 1 and stores a material (not shown in figure) such as a glutinous rice and water, a lid 10 for opening/closing a cooking chamber 4 for storing the cooking case 2, a driving means 3 for rotatably driving the blade 1, a heating means 5 for heating the material, and a control means 6 for controlling the driving means 3 and the heating means 5, and has a rice cooking process for cooking rice while stirring the material by the heating means 5 and the blade 1 and a subsequent process. The number of rotation or the rotation speed of the blade 1 during the rice cooking process is changed corresponding to the elapsed time of the rice cooking process and/or the temperature of the cooking chamber. Rice cooking is performed only by putting the glutinous rice and water into the cooking case 2, and since the blade 1 rotates meanwhile, water absorption and heating can be done in a short time.
