A device (20) is disclosed for dispensing a fluid supplied from an externalfluid source (22). The device (20) comprises a transducer (32) adapted toreceive a fluid from the fluid source, and a collapsible linkage coupling thetransducer (32) and the fluid source (22). The linkage has a collapsible joint(66) inhibiting discharge of the fluid source (22) when in a lockedorientation. The device (20) further comprises a moveable member coupled tothe linkage such that inhalation forces on the device cause the linkage tocollapse thereby discharging the fluid from the fluid source (22). The device(20) may further include a dose counter coupled to the fluid source (22) forregistering the amount of doses administered from the fluid source.
