The invention relates to a system for applying an implant (2), in particular a self-expanding implant (2), to an implantation site, preferably to a blood vessel or the heart, comprising a lock-forming catheter (1) and an implant (2) to be applied which is inserted therein, which can be transported through the lock-forming catheter (1) to the implantation site, in which the implant (2), on the side thereof which faces towards the implantation site, has a through element (3), through which a guide wire (6) in the lock-forming catheter (1) is fed, and a pusher catheter (7) is arranged in the lock-forming catheter (1), which encloses the guide wire (6) and can be pushed on the guide wire (6) towards the implantation site, and the through element (3) forms a non-penetrating stop for the end of the pusher catheter, which end points towards the implantation site. The invention also relates to an application device for applying an implant (2) and an implant for use with the system or the application device.
