The invention relates to a lead that can be put on and released from a distance, comprising: a lower hook (3) which is placed on a collar or harness disposed on a pet and is provided with a lower trigger (1) that can be moved from a distance against the force of an elastic means; and a means for actuating the opening of the lower trigger (1) movable against the force of an elastic means, the means for actuating opening being placed in an intermediate position of the lead and sufficiently distant from the coupling point of the lower trigger. The lead also comprises a means for transmitting the action of the actuator means for opening the lower trigger (1), which is connected at one end to the actuator means and at the other to the lower trigger (1).
