Silk performance garments and methods of making them are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, silk performance garments include textiles, fabrics, consumer products, and other materials coated with an aqueous solution of pure silk fibroin-based protein fragments. In some embodiments, the coated garment product exhibits surprisingly improved moisture management properties and an increase in resistance to microbial growth.
