A customisable coffin 13 comprises a means for removably attaching one or more panels 24 bearing a graphic or image. The removable panels may be attached to any exterior face 14, 15, 16 of the coffin by means of mechanical fastenings such as screws or bolts, or tool-free fastenings 25-28 such as magnetic, adhesive, hook and loop, or friction fit means which may be applied to the coffin or the removable panel. The friction fit means may include a tongue and groove arrangement (18, 19, figure 5) or one or more tracks (9, figure 1) onto which the panel may be slid. The coffin may include a collapsible coffin cover or sleeve (figure 1) housing an inner coffin. A method of displaying graphics on a coffin or coffin cover by means of attaching removable panels is also disclosed.
