PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distance measurement light source which can measure a longer distance more accurately when a distance is measured using light interference.SOLUTION: The present invention includes: an n-type cladding layer 103 and a p-type cladding layer formed of a predetermined semiconductor； and an active layer 105 between the n-type cladding layer and the p-type cladding layer 107, the layer having at least a part which functions as an optical waveguide and having one end surface from which light with a specific wavelength is emitted.
