The invention relates to a lower leg orthosis. The lower leg orthosis is formed with a foot part, a pivot joint, a coupling element, a supporting element and a retaining device in the form of a band. According to the invention it is proposed that between the coupling element and the supporting element a degree of freedom of movement is present, by means of which a rubbing of the lower leg orthosis on a lower leg of the person wearing the lower leg orthosis is at least partially alleviated.
