The present invention relates to composition comprising D-psicose for preventing or treating lipid-related metabolic diseases. According to the present invention, the D-psicose has inhibitory effects on the creation of body fat by inhibiting absorption of lipid in the intestine and increasing the contents of lipid in feces dramatically. The D-psicose normalizes weights, amounts of body fat and lipid profiles in the plasma by decreasing the weights, the amounts of body fat and the concentration of lipid in the plasma to the normal levels. Accordingly, the D-psicose of the present invention is expected to be used as medicines, functional food necessary to prevent or treat the lipid-related metabolic disease.본 발명은 Ｄ-싸이코스를 유효성분으로 함유하는 지질 관련 대사성 질환의 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 D-싸이코스는 소장 내 지질 흡수를 억제하고 분변 내 지질 함량을 현저하게 증가시킴으로써 체지방생성을 억제하는 효과를 나타내며, 체중, 체지방량, 및 혈장 지질 농도를 정상수준으로 감소시켜 체중, 체지방량, 및 혈장지질 프로파일을 정상화시킨다. 따라서, 본 발명의 Ｄ-싸이코스는 지질 관련 대사성 질환의 예방 또는 치료에 유용한 의약품, 건강기능 식품 및 기능성식품으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
