PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body fat measuring instrument for an animal capable of more accurately measuring the body fat percentage of the animal than the conventional measuring instrument.SOLUTION: The body fat measuring instrument for the animal includes an inside electrode pair 21 formed of two inside electrode bodies 121a, 121b, and an outside electrode pair 22 formed of two outside electrode bodies 122a, 122b. The respective electrode bodies are side by side on one flat surface. Spaces are provided between adjacent electrode bodies. Voltage is applied to the respective electrode bodies so that one outside electrode body 122a in the outside electrode pair 22 and one inside electrode body 121a positioned more closely to the one outside electrode body 122a between the two inside electrode bodies in the inside electrode pair 21 have the same potential V1, and the other outside electrode body 122b in the outside electrode pair 22 and the inside electrode body 121b positioned more closely to the other outside electrode body 122b between two electrode bodies in the inside electrode pair 21 have the same potential V2 (V1&neV2).
