Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf ein medizinisches Fangdrahtinstrument mit einem in einen Körperkanal eines Patienten einführbaren Schlauchabschnitt, der eine Schlauchhülle und ein in dieser axial relativ beweglich aufgenommenes Steuerelement (5) beinhaltet, und mit einem Fangdrahtelement (1), das dafür ausgelegt ist, durch axiale Relativbewegung von Schlauchhülle und Steuerelement zwischen einer in der Schlauchhülle aufgenommenen Faltposition und einer distal vor der Schlauchhülle entfalteten Funktionsposition bewegbar zu sein. Erfindungsgemäß sind das metallische Fangdrahtelement metallisch und die Schlauchhülle und das Steuerelement nichtmetallisch ausgeführt. Ein Befestigungsmittel (13, 14) fixiert das Fangdrahtelement mit einem proximalen Endbereich an einem distalen Endbereich des Steuerelements.
