Disclosed is an isolated monoclonal antibody, or antigen binding portion thereof, capable of binding human IL-18, wherein the antibody, or antigen binding portion thereof, comprises: a heavy chain variable region comprising CDR1, CDR2, and CDR3 sequences, and a light chain variable region comprising CDR1, CDR2, and CDR3 sequences, wherein the heavy chain variable region CDR3 sequence comprises an amino acid sequence of residues 99-110 of SEQ ID NO:6, or an amino acid sequence of residues 99-110 of S EQ ID NO:6 containing conservative amino acid substitutions. Further disclosed is an isolated monoclonal antibody, or antigen binding portion thereof, capable of binding human IL-18, that comprises a light chain variable region (VL) comprising SEQ ID NO:7.
