Disclosed herein is a topical ectoparasiticide composition comprising an insect growth regulator selected from methoprene, hydroprene, kinoprene, fenoxycarb, pyriproxifen, cyromazine, dimilin, novaluron and mixtures of two or more thereof, and a solvent comprising at least one C6-C12 medium chain triglyceride wherein the composition comprises at least 60%(w/v) of the triglyceride based on the total composition and wherein the composition comprises at least on antioxidant.
