Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung sind kosmetische Mittel, insbesondere Haarbehandlungsmittel, enthaltend – jeweils bezogen auf ihr Gewicht – 0,0001 bis 20 Gew.-% mindestens eines Proteolipids der Formel (I): R´-X-R´´, in der R´ für einen geradkettigen oder verzweigten, gesättigten oder ungesätttigten Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 11 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen steht, R´´ ein Protein, ein Peptid oder ein Proteinhydrolysat bedeutet, X für –C(O)O- oder –N+(RIII2)-RIV– oder –N(RIII)RIV- oder –C(O)-N(RV)RVI- steht, RIII –(CH2)x-CH3 mit x = 0 – 22 bedeutet und RIV –CH2-CH(OH)-CH2- oder –(CH2)x- mit x = 0 – 22 bedeutet； RV und RVI unabhängig voneinander für –H oder –(CH2)x-CH3 mit x = 0 – 22 stehen； mit der Maßgabe, dass R´´ für Keratin oder ein Keratinhydrolysat steht, wenn X für -C(O)O- steht, und 0,0001 bis 30 Gew.-% Methionylmethionin.
