A drug delivery connector system comprising: an actuator (200) and a drug delivery connector (100), wherein the drug delivery connector (100) comprises: a housing (110) that includes an open distal end (101) and an open proximal end (109); a distal connection portion (150) extending from the housing (110) to the open distal end (101); a proximal connection portion (170) extending from the housing (110) to the open proximal end (109); and wherein the housing (110) comprises a chamber (116) that includes a distal wall (130) disposed between the chamber (116) and the distal connection portion (150), wherein the chamber (116) is in communication fluid with the open distal end (101) and the open proximal end (109); wherein the drug delivery connector (100) further comprises a ball valve (190) disposed within the chamber (116) where the distal wall (130) includes a hole (132) having a perimeter (134) configured to contact the ball valve (190), where the ball valve (190) can be moved in a distal direction to form a releasable seal with the perimeter (134) of the hole (132) to prevent the flow of fluid from the open proximal end (109) to the open distal end (101) after the application of force in a distal direction on the ball valve applied by the fluid after the attachment of a container containing the fluid to the portion of proximal connection, and the ball valve (190) can be moved in a proximal direction to release the releasable seal to allow fluid flow from the open proximal end (109) to the open distal end (101); wherein the actuator (200) is configured for attachment to the open distal end (101) of the housing, the actuator comprises a projection (212) extending in the proximal direction and includes at least one opening (214) in fluid communication with an open distal end (211) of the actuator (200), such that after joining the actuator (200) to the open distal end (101) of the housing, the projection (212) applies a force on the ball valve (190) in the proximal di
