Disclosed is a delivery system (10) for a self-expanding stent (12). The system has an inner member located coaxially with an outer member (11), the inner member and the outer member including a distal and proximal end. Before deployment of the stent, the stent is constrained within an inner diameter of the outer member. A pusher (16) is positioned at a proximal end of the inner member acts to push the stent distally. A slider (13) is located coaxially with the inner member and positioned within and contacting an inner diameter of the stent. During deployment of the stent the slider can rotate about and move longitudinally along the inner member allowing the stent to move distally or rotate within the outer member as the outer member is retracted to deploy the stent.
