The invention relates to GATA-3 inhibitors for use in the treatment of Th2-driven asthma, in particular to DNAzymes directed at GATA-3 for use in the treatment of a patient suffering from allergic asthma, wherein the patient is characterized by (i) a blood eosinophil count of 3% or more, particularly of 4% or more, more particularly of 5% or more; and/or (ii) blood eosinophil count of 350 x 10 6 / L or more, particularly of 450 x 10 6 / L or more; and/or (iii) fractional expiratory nitric oxide of 40 ppb or more.
