PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new spool that enables greatly reducing weight at low manufacturing cost while maintaining superior strength, and provide a reel with the same.SOLUTION: A spool includes: a pair of spool body members 21, 21 with flanges at one end of a cylindrical spool body 21a for winding and feeding a fishing line a connecting member 22 for connecting and maintaining the other ends of the pair of spool body members 21, 21 while bringing them into abutment with each other and a spool shaft 23 capable of being attached to the connecting member 22.
