The present invention relates to an air purifier. The air purifier is formed in a flat shape and has a structure in which an optical catalyst filter and a light source, so harmful gas may be removed and deodorization may be performed through an optical catalyst reaction. The present invention relates to an air purifier having an optical catalyst filter (70) and a light source (62) for activating the optical catalyst filter (70), wherein the air purifier comprises: a main body housing (10) for accommodating a dust collecting filter (40) in a front surface thereof, and having a fan (20) installed in a rear side thereof； a cover (30) installed in a front side of the body housing (10), and defining a hallow part along with the body housing (10)； and an air suctioning hole (32) for connecting an external space outside of the air purifier and the hollow part. The optical catalyst filter (70) is installed in the hollow part, wherein the optical catalyst filter (70) is formed in the air suctioning hole (32) to have a shape corresponding to the air suctioning hole (32) or is formed in a position corresponding to a suctioning surface (22) of the fan (20) to be adjacent to the dust collecting filter (40).본 발명은 평평한 형태의 공기정화기에 광촉매 필터와 광원을 설치하는 구조를 제공함으로써, 평평한 형태의 공기정화기로도 광촉매 반응을 통해 유해가스 제거와 탈취가 가능하도록 한 공기 정화기에 관한 것이다.본 발명은 광촉매 필터(70)와 상기 광촉매 필터를 활성화하는 광원(62)이 설치된 공기 정화기로서, 전면(front face)에 집진필터(40)가 수용되고, 후방에 팬(20)이 설치되는 본체 하우징(10)； 상기 본체 하우징(10)의 전방에 설치되어 본체 하우징과 함께 중공부를 규정하는 커버(30)； 및 상기 공기 정화기 외부의 공간과 상기 중공부를 연통하는 흡기구(32)；를 포함하고, 상기 광촉매 필터(70)는 중공부 내에 설치되되, 상기 흡기구(32)와 대응하는 형상으로 상기 흡기구 내측에 설치되거나 상기 집진필터(40)와 인접하며 상기 팬의 흡입면(22)에 대응하는 위치에 설치된다.
