Disclosed is a silver-based inorganic antimicrobial agent which exhibits superior heat resistance, chemical resistance, processability and long-lasting waterproofness. The present invention was completed based on the finding that the problems can be solved by a silver-based inorganic antimicrobial agent represented by the following Formula (1) containing zirconium pyrophosphate (ZrP2O7). AgaMbZrcHfd(PO4)3.nH2O&emsp&emsp(1) (In Formula (1), M is at least one ion selected from an alkali metal ion, an ammonium ion, a hydrogen ion and an oxonium ion, a, b, c and d are positive numbers satisfying 1.75<(c+d)<2.2 and a+b+4(c+d)=9, and n is 2 or less).본 발명은, 내열성, 내약품성, 가공성이 뛰어나고, 또 내수 지속성도 뛰어난 은계 무기 항균제를 제공하는 것이다.피로인산지르코늄(ZrP2O7)을 함유하는 하기 식〔1〕로 나타나는 은계 무기 항균제에 의해 과제를 해결할 수 있는 것을 발견하여, 본 발명을 완성시켰다.AgaMbZrcHfd(PO4)3ㆍnH2O 〔1〕(식〔1〕에 있어서, M은 알칼리 금속 이온, 암모늄 이온, 수소 이온, 옥소늄 이온으로부터 선택되는 적어도 1종의 이온이며, a, b, c 및 d는 양수이며, 1.75<(c+d)<2.2, a+b+4(c+d)=9를 만족시키는 수이며, n은 2 이하이다.)
