The present invention provides an inorganic black pigment which comprises no harmful elements and has an excellent infrared reflecting property and an excellent light transmittance. The inorganic black pigment of the present invention comprises a composite oxide comprising Fe, Co and Al as well as at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zn, Sn, Zr, Si and Cu, which inorganic black pigment has an average primary particle diameter of 0.02 to 2.0 µ m, an average reflectance of not less than 10% as measured in a wavelength range of 300 to 2500 nm from a visible light region to an infrared region, and an average light transmittance of not less than 10% as measured in a wavelength range of 300 to 2500 nm from a visible light region to an infrared region.
