Disclosed are compositions for protecting animals against ectoparasites prepared based on plant extracts, which comprise 0.1 to 90 parts by weight of dry matter macerate and/or the oil isolated from the seeds and/or leaves of Azadirachta indica tree and/or Pongamia. The compositions may be in the nature aqueous, emulsion, oil, gel, cream or powder.
