A system and method for detecting subliminal facial responses of a humansubject to subliminalstimuli. The method includes: receiving captured first facial response dataapproximatelytime-locked with a presentation of subliminal target stimuli to a plurality ofhuman subjects; receivingcaptured second facial response data approximately time-locked with apresentation ofsubliminal foil stimuli to the plurality of human subjects; receiving capturedunidentified facialresponse data to a subliminal stimulus from the target human subject;determining a targetprobability measure that the unidentified facial response data of the targethuman subject is inresponse to the subliminal target stimuli using a machine learning modeltrained with asubliminal response training set, the subliminal response training setcomprising the firstcaptured facial response data and the captured second facial response data;and outputting thetarget probability measure.
