PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a hue in an observation image from changing whether an image of a main subject is captured from a distance or from nearby.SOLUTION: An endoscope system includes: an electronic endoscope 12 in which a solid state imaging device 58 is mounted on a tip 26, and an illumination part 42 is provided adjacent to the solid state imaging device 58, and which illuminates a subject in a body cavity with an illumination light emitted from the illumination part 42 when the tip 26 is inserted into the body cavity of the subject, and captures an image of the subject by the solid state imaging device 58 illumination means 53, 100, 101, 102, 103 and 104 for generating the illumination light in which three primary colors, i.e. red light, green light, and blue light are mixed, and emitting the light from the illumination part to the subject and control means 82 for increasing the illumination light intensity of a color whose light amount becomes smaller than the light amounts of the other colors among the red light, the green light, and the blue light, or decreasing the illumination light intensity of a color whose light amount becomes larger than the light amounts of the other colors when the illumination light intensity is changed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT【課題】遠くから主要被写体の画像を撮影しても近くから撮影しても観察画像の色味が変化しないようにする。【解決手段】先端部26に固体撮像素子58が搭載されると共に固体撮像素子58に隣接して照明部42が設けられ、被検体の体腔内に先端部26が挿入されたとき該体腔内の被写体を照明部42から出射される照明光で照明し固体撮像素子58で該被写体の画像を撮影する電子内視鏡12と、赤色光,緑色光,青色光の3原色光を混合した前記照明光を生成し、前記照明部から前記被写体に出射する照明手段53,100,101,102,103,104と、前記照明光の強度を変化させたとき、赤色光,緑色光,青色光の各色のうち他色の光量に対して少なくなる光量の色の照明光強度を上げ、又は、他色の光量に対して多くなる光量の色の照明光強度を下げる制御手段82とを備える。【選択図】図4
