PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition exhibiting bone mass increasing effect on growing child and preventing or improving effect on bone diseases other than osteoporosis, e.g. bone destruction caused by rheumatoid arthritis or bone metastasis of cancer in addition to the prevention of osteoporosis of aged person, and provide drinks, foods, supplements, etc., containing the composition.SOLUTION: It has been found that the administration of Sudachi (Citrus sudachi hort. ex Shirai) juice to a spayed mouse known as an osteoporosis model animal significantly lowers the bone loss, keeps the body weight, does not increase the weight of uterus contracted by spaying and is a safe agent free from unadvantageous action to the total body. Accordingly, the Sudachi juice is found to be effective for the prevention/treatment of osteoporosis.COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT【課題】高齢者の骨粗鬆症の予防のみならず、成長期の子どもの骨量を増やす効果や、骨粗鬆症以外の骨疾患、例えば、関節リウマチによる骨破壊やがんの骨転移による骨破壊などにおいても予防あるいは改善効果を発揮しうる組成物、及び、それを含む飲料や食品、サプリメント等を提供すること。【解決手段】骨粗鬆症モデル動物である卵巣摘出マウスにスダチ搾汁液を摂取させたところ、骨量の低下が有意に軽減し、体重に変化はなく、卵巣摘出によって萎縮した子宮重量は増加せず、全身的に不利益な作用のない安全なものであることを見い出した。この結果から、スダチ搾汁液が骨粗鬆症の予防・治療に有効であることがわかった。【選択図】なし
