PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a registration fixture for use with a surgical navigation system for registration of a medical image or images to a three-dimensional tracking space.SOLUTION: A registration fixture 1410 is attached to a patient fixation instrument 1402 through the use of a pivot arm 1412. The pivot arm 1412 is attached to the patient fixation instrument by inserting the patient fixation instrument through an opening 1414 of the registration fixture.
