The application concerns a detection system (30) for a tub (10) having a water recirculation system (18), the detection system providing the information to the user whether the tub needs cleaning.The detection system comprises therefore an electronic sensor (32a, 32b) configured to detect a condition indicative of water being present in a water recirculation system of the tub and an indicator (36) configured to provide a visual indication according to the detected condition. The electronic sensor is configured to send a detection signal according to the detected condition. The detection system further comprises a controller (34) configured to receive the detection signal and send an indication signal according to the detection signal wherein the indicator is configured to receive the indication signal and provide the visual indication according to the detection signal.
