In particular, the invention relates to methods for predicting theoutcome of acardiovascular condition in a subject, which comprise determining a level ofsoluble ST2 in abiological sample wherein an elevated level of soluble ST2 relative to apredetermined valueis indicative of a negative outcome of a cardiovascular condition, and adecreased level ofsoluble ST2 relative to a predetermined value is indicative of a positiveoutcome of acardiovascular condition.
