PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate the lifetime of and suppress the deterioration in cutting capability of a rotary knife for cutting a stretchable sheet.SOLUTION: A stretchable sheet manufacturing method comprising: (1) applying an adhesive to an inner surface of at least one of paired continuous sheets； (2), jointing the paired continuous sheets and a thread-like elastic member, while the thread-like elastic extending in a width direction or a direction intersecting the continuing direction of said continuous sheets is interposed between the paired continuous sheets which was applied with said adhesive, thereby to form a continuous member of a stretchable sheet； (3) bringing the rotary blade rotating with said width direction as an axial direction, into contact with the portion, to which said adhesive is not applied, of the continuum of said stretchable sheet held in the state extended in said width direction by a holding member； and (4) plunging the tip of said rotary blade into the space formed in said holding member, thereby to cut the continuum of said stretchable sheet along said continuous direction without any contact between said tip and said holding member.【課題】伸縮性シートを切断する回転刃の高寿命化を図ると共に切断性の悪化を抑制すること。【解決手段】（１）一対の連続シートの少なくとも一方の内側表面に接着剤を塗布することと、（２）前記接着剤が塗布された前記一対の連続シートの間に当該連続シートの連続方向と交差する方向である幅方向に伸長している糸状弾性部材を介在させた状態で、前記一対の連続シートと前記糸状弾性部材とを接合して伸縮性シートの連続体を形成することと、（３）保持部材により前記幅方向に伸長した状態が保持された前記伸縮性シートの連続体のうち前記接着剤が塗布されていない部位に、前記幅方向を軸方向として回転する回転刃を接触させると共に、前記保持部材に設けられた空間部に前記回転刃の刃先を突入させて、当該刃先と前記保持部材を接触させずに前記伸縮性シートの連続体を前記連続方向に沿って切断することと、（４）を有することを特徴とする伸縮性シートの製造方法。【選択図】図６
