PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathing apparatus that enables a person in need of care such as an elderly person and a handicapped person to have a bath safely and easily.SOLUTION: A bathing apparatus 1 is attached to a bathtub 2 and moves the person in need of care between inside and outside of the bathtub 2, the bathing apparatus 1 being provided with: a base 3 attached on one end side of the bathtub 2 lateral movement means 10 provided on the base 3 and movable in a horizontal direction relative to the bathtub 2 elevating means 20 provided on the lateral movement means 10 and movable in a vertical direction relative to the bathtub 2 and a chair 4 attachable to the elevating means 20.
