PURPOSE: A rabbit animal model for dry eye and screening method of drug for preventing or treating dry eye using the same is provided to have excellent reproducibility and practicality by simple surgical operation for long term like 12 weeks. CONSTITUTION: A rabbit animal model for dry eye is obtained by injecting or applying eyewash material selected from the group consisting of Botox-B, benzalkonium chloride, and their mixture, to the lachrymal gland of a rabbit. The animal model is obtained by injecting or applying eyewash 0.5U/0.1cc Botox-B and 0.2% benzalkonium chloride.본 발명은 장기간 건성안 토끼 동물모델 및 이를 이용한 건성안 예방 또는 치료용 약물 스크리닝 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 특정 용량의 보톡스-B, 염화벤잘코늄 또는 이들의 혼합물을 토끼의 눈물샘 주사 또는 점안함으로써 재현성 및 실용성이 우수함과 동시에 간단한 시술로 12주와 같은 장기간의 건성안 토끼 동물모델을 확립할 수 있다. 특히, 본 발명에 따른 장기간 건성안 토끼 동물을 이용하여 실제 건성안을 겪고 있는 환자의 치료 또는 예방용 약물을 스크리닝 할 수 있다.
