METHOD OF COOLING A STERILIZER Cooling of a jacketed autoclave or steam sterilizer (1) is carried out by allowing a film of water (14) to flow down the inner wall of the sterilizers jacket :pace (3). 5 Condensate from the jacket space (3) is drawn into the water ring pump (10) provided for vacuum in the autoclave jacket (3). The condensate is conducted to the vater side of the pump while the normal suction line is connected at the pump to the gas 2one. Thus, the water ring pump (10) draws condensate from the lowest point (4) of the jacket (3) to the water side, and gas from the jacket space (3) to the normal suction inlet. During the io process of sterilizer cooling, a stream of water and air (17) from the water ring pump (10) is conducted to the upper part of the jacket space (3) of the steam sterilizer (1) and is allowed to flow as a film down the inner wall of the jacket space (3).
