PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bait log which can easily be used in a layer near to the sea surface.SOLUTION: The bait log 2 that floats on the sea surface comprises a body 4, umbrella hooks 24, 26, and a water-receiving surface 28. The umbrella hooks 24, 26 are attached to the rear end of the body 4. The water-receiving surface 28 is placed on the front portion of the body 4. The water-receiving surface 28 is inclined in the front direction of the body 4 and downward in the body height direction. Preferably, the water-receiving surface 28 of the bait log 2 is placed in the front direction from the center of gravity of the bait log 2. Preferably, the bait log 2 has a sinker 12.
