PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical apparatus 1 retaining the interior of the large intestine 4 in an appropriate dilation state when inserting an insertion section 11 of an endoscope 3 in the interior of the large intestine 4 of a patient 5.
SOLUTION: This medical apparatus includes: an endoscope 3 having a CCD 30, a suction hole 32A and an air sending hole 33A at the distal end 11A of an insertion section 11 a suction section 17 sucking fluid from the interior of the large intestine 4 via the suction hole 32 an air sending section 16 sending the fluid to the interior of the large intestine 4 via the air sending hole 33A a position detection section 6 detecting a site of the large intestine 4 in which the distal end section 11A is inserted and a control section 41 controlling the suction section 17 and the air sending section 16, so that the site of the large intestine 4 in which the insertion section 11 is inserted becomes a dilated state suited to the insertion.
