PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rice stirring device and a rice stirring method facilitating the removal of a drum and the cleaning of the drum.SOLUTION: Provided is the rice stirring device including: a drum 5 provided with an opening 52 for charging/exhausting rice and an axial part a drum receiving part for rotatably receiving the axial part of the drum 5 a driving source for rotatively driving the drum 5 a drum driving member provided at the drum receiving part, transferring the rotary driving force of the driving source to the drum and reciprocating the drum back and forth in a fixed angle range and an air supply opening 25 for supplying air from the opening 52 to the inside of the drum 5.
