The invention relates to a method for protecting the human skin from UV radiation, characterized in that i) initially the skin is moistened with water, ii) subsequently a cosmetic preparation containing a) an acrylate copolymer having a glass transition temperature of between -5 to -15 C°, measured according to DSC, b) a particulate UV filter, is applied to the moistened skin, and iii) the skin is rinsed with water after the application of the cosmetic preparation.
