PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological state determining apparatus capable of improving the determination accuracy of an absentminded state of a driver.
SOLUTION: This biological state determining apparatus 1 includes: a face imaging camera 2 for imaging the drivers face a vehicle-exterior imaging camera 3 for imaging the exterior (in front) of the vehicle and an ECU 5. The ECU 5 includes: a main processing section 7 for acquiring eye opened periods of the driver based on the captured images of the face imaging camera 2, calculating a dispersion in the eye opened periods, and detecting the absentminded state of the driver a first eye-opened-period dispersion calculating data setting and processing section 8 for detecting inputs of disturbance to the drivers eyes based on the captured images of the face imaging camera 2, and setting a unit time width for calculating the dispersion in the eye opened periods and a second eye-opened-period dispersion calculating data setting and processing section 9 for detecting vehicle-exterior environment based on the captured images of the vehicle-exterior imaging camera 3, and setting the unit time width for calculating the dispersion in the eye opened periods.
