PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a pulling-out failure caused by crushing and segmentation at a stem and leaf holding part or a decrease in holding power to stems and leaves while suppressing a steep increase in cost and reducing noise and wear caused by sliding guide.SOLUTION: An apparatus 4 for pulling out stems and leaves, to pull out stems and leaves upward to the rear in association with the travel of a machine body to convey the stems and leaves, includes a lateral pair of endless conveying chains 102 holding the root side of the stems and leaves to be pulled out to pull out the stem and leaves upward to the rear and convey them, and a lateral pair of guide mechanisms 108 guiding the movement of the right and left endless conveying chains 102 in a pull-out conveying direction while maintaining the holding state of the right and left endless conveying chains 102 to the stems and leaves to be pulled out in holding-conveying paths of the endless conveying chains 102.
