The present invention provides a rectal suppository comprising 20 to 30 wt. % of levodopa 0.25 to 1.5 wt. % of selegiline 4 to 25 wt. % of emulsifying wax 30 to 75 wt. % of at least one suppository base 4 to 25 wt. % of at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of tween 80 and span 80, preferably tween 80 and 0.05 to 0.2 wt. % of at least one preservative. The present invention also provide a process for preparing a rectal suppository.
