PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device for an endoscope and an endoscope apparatus for effectively cooling an insertion portion of the endoscope apparatus by responding to the variation of a temperature environment and for observing a subject safely and stably under a high temperature environment.
SOLUTION: The cooling device 20 for an endoscope includes a sheath 22 mounted on the distal end side of the insertion portion 6 to form a cooling flow passage 21 where a cooling fluid A flows between the sheath and the peripheral surface of the insertion portion 6, a fluid supply part 28 connected to the sheath 22 for supplying the cooling fluid A by communicating with the cooling flow passage 21, a fluid discharging part 29 connected to the sheath 22 for discharging the cooling fluid A by communicating with the cooling flow passage 21, at least one temperature sensor 26 for detecting a temperature status inside the sheath 22 or in the vicinity of the outer surface, and a control part 24 for determining whether the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 26 exceeds a threshold value set in advance.
