A method for assessing an individual's health status using single coil magnetic field induced tomography imaging is provided. A patient target area for medical imaging may be identified. Multiple coil characteristic measurements can be obtained using a single coil. Multiple coil property measurements may be performed using a single coil at multiple discrete locations relative to the target area. The coil characteristic measurements can be processed to generate an image of the conductivity distribution of the target area. The image can be analyzed to assess the patient's health.
