Through the present invention, collapse of a catheter as a whole during a tip deflection operation is suppressed. In a tubular member 20 of a catheter 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention, a first lumen 22 and a second lumen 23 are formed along a center axis in a region outside a bore 21. The first lumen 22 and the second lumen 23 are provided in positions symmetrical about the center axis of the tubular member 20 as an axis of symmetry. A pull wire (operating wire) 50 is inserted in the first lumen 22. A curve suppression member 60 is inserted in the second lumen 23. A wire having a high tensile load strength such as an SUS wire, a tungsten wire, or a Ni-Ti-based superelastic wire is used as the curve suppression member 60. The distal end of the curve suppression member 60 is positioned closer to a proximal side by an amount commensurate with the length of a curve allowed region D than the position of the distal end of the pull wire 50. The proximal end of the curve suppression member 60 is positioned inside a handle, and a tensile load is applied to the curve suppression member 60.
